We are always on the hunt for Colt twins, but today these siblings ended up outside at the same time! They were so happy to see each other during the school day.

Please take a look at our lost & found. If you see something that belongs to your child, please reach out to their homeroom teacher- we don't always see comments on here.

Please be sure to write your child's first and last name on their belongings so we can return them.

We want to introduce another staff member who joined us back in the fall. Ms. Myers is a kindergarten paraprofessional in Mrs. Fitzpatrick's class. Ms. Myers is always willing to help wherever she is needed, and we are so happy to have her on the Colt team!

Help us welcome Coach Dodd to DES! Coach Dodd is completing his internship with Coach Cutts. Here is what Coach Dodd had to say about DES: "Danielsville Elementary has been a great student teaching experience. All teachers and faculty in the school have been helpful and welcoming at all times. My teacher, Coach Cutts, has been an outstanding mentor and has taught me many things that I will take through my teaching career. "

Get ready to sail into stories at The Literati Book Fair! The book fair will be here from February 6th to February 13th. The book fair will be open to STUDENTS ONLY during school hours. Students can shop with cash or with a Literati Gift Card.

The book fair will be open for parents to shop on Tuesday, February 10th, 5:30-7:00. We can accept cash, Literati Gift Cards, and debit/credit cards. We can NOT accept checks.

Another face to officially introduce! Mrs. Smith joined us back in the fall, but has been involved with DES for many years! We are so happy to officially have her as a Colt and to support boys and girls every day.

We have a few introductions to make! We are so excited to have pre-service teachers placed at Danielsville Elementary School to complete their internships. We are proud to introduce a familiar face- Mrs. Mary Paige Kilgore! Mrs. Kilgore has worked as a paraprofessional the ELC and here at Danielsville Elementary School. She is completing her internship with Mrs. Adams in kindergarten. We are happy to be a part of her education journey!

Our final background checks and volunteer training will be held on Tuesday, Feb 3rd with sessions at 8:15 am, 11:15 am, 1:15 pm, and 3:15 pm.

Rock Lobster Update- please read before reaching out to The Rock Lobsters. Students who logged 1000 minutes by December and returned their form have been submitted to receive their free ticket. Please read below about redemption instructions. Please see the information sent from The Rock Lobsters. REDEMPTION INSTRUCTIONS Ticket redemption will be a very simple process at the Box Office. The Box Office will have a list of all the students' names with the game date they selected, all the students need to do is tell the Box Office their name and they will receive their seat for the game! PARENTS INTERESTED IN PURCHASING TICKETS The parents can purchase tickets two different ways. They can buy tickets at the box office when they redeem their child's ticket. This will be the easiest way as we can put their seats with their child upon entering the arena. If they prefer to purchase tickets ahead of time (starting February 9th) please have them call our main office line, 706-510-2959. They will need to say they are calling to redeem their child's Rocking and Reading Ticket, provide the child's first and last name, school they attend, and the game date that they picked.

Colt twins spotted on Friday! 🐴🐴

We are monitoring the weather for this weekend and preparing for a possible school closure if the weather forecast occurs as predicted. In the case of an emergency or school closing, the Madison County School District will send an automated message using Infinite Campus Shoutpoint, and we will share information on the district and school websites and Facebook pages. During a school closure, the Madison County School System may designate the day as an Independent Learning Day. All schools are sharing more information with parents this week.
