Friday, October 17th, is the last day to order a shirt for the 5K!

Gobble gobble! Calling all runners... and waddlers! DES is hosting our second annual Turkey Trot 5K on November 8th at 9:00. Complete a form for each runner in your family.

The cost to enter the 5K is $10. If you want to purchase a shirt, it is an additional $10. Payments can be made on MyPaymentsPlus.
The last day to register and order a shirt is Friday, October 17th.

Colt Connection for Tuesday, Oct. 7th.

Tomorrow is the last day of the book fair! Students can shop during the day with cash or a Literati gift card. Parents will be able to shop from 2:00-6:00 during parent conference night.

You can also purchase a Literati gift card for a teacher to use for their classroom or for the library.

Please see the image for information about Christmas assistance for Madison County residents. Sign-ups are in person on October 20th, October 27th, November 3rd, and November 4th from 9:00-2:00. This is open to Madison County residents only. To sign up, you will need to bring a photo ID, proof of income for each person living in the house, and two proofs of current address.

PTO will be selling Colt Concessions during the Colt Derby.

Mrs. Byrd and Ms. Maxwell Murphy’s first grade class learned all about spiders today. Writing facts, acting out how spiders catch prey, and creating their own foodie spider helped to make these facts stick in a fun way.

Custodian Appreciation Day was yesterday and we are so thankful for all this team does to care for our school!

We're a little late, but always thankful for Mrs. Shubert. IT Appreciation Day was in September and we are so thankful for all Ms. Shubert does each day to support Colts and staff at DES.

We were able to start our Friday the best way- spending time with our DES families! We were able to host our 5th grade families this morning for parent breakfast. Sending an extra special thank you to our AMAZING cafeteria staff for serving all of our parent breakfasts 🍳

Mrs. Marlowe & Mrs. Wade's kindergarten class earned a camping day! They completed their writing in the tent, practiced reading their phonics skill with a flashlight, and enjoyed a s'mores!

Way to go, Mrs. Lasseter's phonics group! They have all earned a scratch-and-sniff pizza bookmark and are so close to earning a pizza reward party! Way to go, Colts!
