Colt Connection for Tuesday, February 10, 2026

Ms. Goldman & Mrs. Smith's kindergarten class created a 3D shape museum! They did a great job spotting shapes and sorting them into their correct group. Way to go, Kinder Colts!

We hope to see you TOMORROW at 5:30. Join us for games, food, mini-sessions, and to shop at the book fair.

Ms. Langston and Ms. Ollis’ classes had a special visit from Abraham Lincoln and Clara Barton during their Module Three Book Tasting! Students enjoyed an authentic Civil War era meal of bean soup, rice, and oatmeal cookies. Our students worked so hard during this unit, learning all about the Civil War and the experience of boy soldiers.

Colt twins spotted! Mrs. Rogers and Delilah were matching today!

Help us welcome Ms. Smith! Ms. Smith is completing her student teaching in Mrs. Chancey's 4th-grade classes. We are happy to have her with us at DES!

Ms. Dunphy is student teaching in second grade with Mrs. Craig's reading classes. We are happy to have Ms. Dunphy with us!

TOMORROW! The book fair opens to STUDENTS tomorrow. During school hours, only students will be able to shop at the book fair. Parents can shop at our Academic Showcase on Tuesday, February 10th.

Another student teacher to introduce! Ms. Smith is completing her student teaching in 5th grade with Ms. Langston!

Mrs. Crowder and Mrs. Sellers started unpacking the book fair! Students can start shopping Friday! Parents will be able to shop Tuesday evening at the academic showcase.

Here are our January Bell2Bell raffle winners. Students who are here everyday for the month receive a prize and then are entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card!

All Aboard! Our Academic Showcase will be Tuesday, February 10th from 5:30-7:30! We hope you will join us! Chick-fil-A and Groovy Fizz will be joining us. This is also when parents can shop at the Literati Book Fair.

Another shout-out for our counselor, Ms. Crawford! We are so thankful for all she does to support students, staff, and families at DES. We love you, Ms. Crawford!

Mrs. Horne joined us in the fall as a community-based instruction teacher. We are so thankful to have her at DES!

Another familiar face to introduce! Ms. Crowe is a former Colt and current DES paraprofessional who is completing her student teaching internship with us. We are so happy to support Ms. Crowe in her pre-service experience!
