The Madison County School System is aware of a nationwide cybersecurity incident reported by Instructure, the vendor for our Canvas learning management system. The vendor has communicated that basic user data, such as names and email addresses, and internal messages may have been accessed. Canvas does not have access to Social Security numbers or financial information for any Madison County staff or students.
For now, our staff and students still have access to Canvas. The Canvas platform is not currently connected to any other applications that house staff or student information. We are monitoring the situation closely and will keep you informed.
