Let's kick off your rookie year with a special kindergarten night on June 11th. Drop in at the DES library between 4-6 for a craft, information on summer reading, and to meet the kindergarten teachers. We hope to see you there!

Colt Connection May 19, 2026

It was one of our favorite days at DES! Our senior Colts came back to DES to get their tassels.

Students who met their iReady goal got the first-grade teachers good today! They could choose to crack an egg on their head, pie in the face or bust a water balloon on them.

Today is Speech-Language Pathologist Day! We are so thankful for Ms. Guest and all that she does for our Colts!

One of our Bell2Bell winners was able to enjoy using their gift card!

Mrs. Kesler's class became volcanologists and had a "lava" good time learning about volcanoes! Students read informational passages from multiple sources, looked at text features, wrote their own informational writing piece, designed an educational PowerPoint, and, lastly, created their own volcanic eruption. Way to go, Colts!

We still have 488 books checked out! Please get these returned or pay the replacement fee. Overdue notices have been sent home. If you aren't sure if your child still has a book, reach out to Mrs. Crowder. Thank you for helping us maintain our collection.

Students have been meeting goals, crushing I-Ready math lessons, and earning rewards in Mrs. Whitworth’s math classes.

Please see the option to pre-pay for upcoming ASP days. This will be required for students to stay on May 18 and May 19. All other ASP balances are due by May 15. There will be no ASP on May 20, our last day of school.
