EOG Testing: Electronic devices such as cell phones, smartphones, smartwatches, cameras, etc. are not allowed in the EOG testing environment. Possession improper use of such devices during testing may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the system’s student code of conduct and/or test invalidation. Devices such as those mentioned above that are brought into the testing environment must not remain in the student’s possession during testing. We will require all students to leave such devices in their locker or at home during testing.
Rising 8th Grade Athletes: Piedmont Healthcare is offering free physicals to All Madison County High School Athletes (including rising 9th graders) on April 27th at the Oconee Health Campus on Jennings Mill Rd. Physical packets are available in the front office. A bus will be available to transport students, please inform Front Office of the MCHS if you are intending on riding the bus.
MCHS Football: Any 8th grade boy that signed up to play football for Coach Russum needs to ride the bus located at the tennis courts this afternoon to the High School to get fitted for equipment. Have your ride pick you up at the football field at 5:00. Any questions please see Coach Russum.
Chorus: Any current 6th or 7th grade student interested in registering for chorus next year may pick up a form outside of the chorus room. Completed registration forms must be returned to Dr. Blackmon by Friday, May 3rd. Current chorus students will have first priority in scheduling but only if forms are turned in by the deadline.
MCMS Football: Attention All MCMS Football players for next season-there will be a MANDATORY Parent Meeting this afternoon at 4:30 in the Cafeteria. All those who wish to play football for the Middle School next year must attend and have a parent/guardian or family member there. This will take place right after school weight training. If you cannot attend, you must speak with Coach Callicutt before the meeting date.
2019-2020 Cheerleaders: Meeting this evening at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. Attendance is MANDATORY! A parent/guardian need to be with you at this meeting.
MCHS Soccer: Any 8th grader interested in playing soccer at the High School next year, there will be a MANDATORY meeting on Saturday, May 18th from 10:00-11:00 in the Madison County High School Cafeteria. At least one parent/guardian must accompany the player to this meeting.
Volleyball: Tryouts are April 29 and 30th until 5:00 pm. See Coach Beckham with any questions.
8th Graders: Any 8th grader that thinks he/she has perfect attendance, please see Ms. McCannon in room 1321 before Friday.
FCCLA: Members-Fundraisers are due tomorrow. Please make sure you bring finished bag to Mrs. Coker as soon as possible.
FCCLA: Next social will be after school until 4 pm the afternoon of April 30. We will be hosting a cookie decorating contest or cupcake competition! Ride pick-up is at 4 pm in front of the school.
Student Council: We will begin our Annual Pennies for Patients program this week to raise money to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Georgia. All proceeds will go to support these needy families. MCMS has been a huge supporter of this program for many years. We will compete in each lunch period class to raise the most money for this worthy cause. The winning class will receive a pizza and dessert party at the end of the 3-week period. We will also give bonus prizes to the top 3 donors. So bring in your loose change or bills and let us make this another successful year. Softball: Tryouts will be held on May 7 and 8 until 5:30 pm. See Coach Shimmin with any questions.
Book Drive: MCMS Book Drive is going on now! Please donate any gently used books to the media center. We are hoping to have enough to do a giveaway in May.
Lost & Found: We have a New Lost & Found Location! Items are in the alcove in the cafeteria. Please check here if you are missing an item. On the last school day of each month, any unclaimed items will be donated.
Junior Deputy Academy: The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff J. Michael Moore Present the 9th Annual Junior Deputy Academy which will be held May 28-31 for upcoming 5th-7th graders and June 17-20 for upcoming 8th-10th graders. There will be driving, investigating, shooting and much more! If you are interested, please see any of the Madison County School Resource Officers. Also, see the flyers hanging in the hallways about the Academy.

Red Flagged Buses: The following are Red Flagged Buses. Only Students that live on these routes are allowed to ride these buses. 03-82(Hall), 04-85(Haynes), 04-87(Bray), 11-6(Rebar), 11-7(Kettle), 11-8(Bird), 15-20(Layton), 15-21(Arrendale) and 16-22(Fortson).
Middle Grade Students: are NOT allowed to ride the bus to the High School and get off their bus to ride home with anyone else (car or another bus) or to attend an After School Event, without prior approval from transportation.
