Budget/Comments from Dr. Register
PTO started the 2016-17 school year with $5,771 and ended the school year with $6,855.87. There are no outstanding expenses. PTO discussed potential school projects to be funded. Mandy has been researching greenhouses and estimates that $4,500 should buy a quality greenhouse. A $3,000 grant is in the works to fund the greenhouse. PTO will discuss paying the remaining amount, as well as the possibility of installing a watering system for the garden, at the August meeting.
The group discussed the possibility of compiling a cookbook containing recipes made with fruits and veggies from the school garden, as well as recipes from past and present CES families.
PTO officers will remain the same for the 2017-18 school year.
Super Saver Cards
Grade level representatives, PTO officers, and administrators divided up a list of businesses to contact about placing an offer on this year’s card. Deadline for business submissions will be June 23 so that cards will be available for purchase during Open House. Dr. Register reminded the group that the cards are a huge fundraiser for the school, allowing for the funding of programs and the purchase of technology, equipment, books, etc. The cards are inexpensive to print, and businesses pay nothing to place an offer on the card.
