PTO Minutes - May 2, 2016

2016­-17 PTO Officers

PTO approved the following officers for the 2016-­17 school year:

  • Mandy Moon and Alison Trump, Co­Presidents
  • Chris Armel and Lori Westbrooks, Co­Vice Presidents
  • Tracy Hendrix, Secretary

2016­17 Fundraisers

The group, along with teacher representatives from each grade level, discussed fundraisers for the upcoming school year.

Super Saver Cards

Super Saver card sponsorship info is due June 23. This will allow time for the cards to be designed and printed for distribution beginning at Open House. Meeting attendees divided up a list of businesses to contact regarding sponsorship. Anja Cleveland will revise and distribute sponsorship forms to everyone who will be contacting businesses.

Family Movie Night

The group set Tuesday, October 24 as the date for our fall movie night fundraiser. The event is scheduled to take place on the field and will be moved to the gym in case of inclement weather. The movie will start at dusk, around 6:30-­6:45. Movie admission will be free.  Concessions will be available before and during the movie.  Presale concessions packs will be available for purchase in order to give PTO a better estimate of how much food will be needed. Possible concessions items include hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, candy, and shaved ice. Heather Thompson mentioned the possibility of inviting a shaved ice vendor to set up with a portion of proceeds going to PTO.

Spirit Sprint

Event will be held Friday, March 31 immediately following the March assembly, provided that moving the date back will not interfere with paying for field trips. Mandy will discuss this issue with Dr. Register. Mandy and Chris will price bulk yard signs to place around the track. The signs will list business sponsors and will also be available for purchase by individuals who wish to sponsor a sign for students, classes, etc. Tentative business sponsorship deadline will be mid January.  PTO will divide up a list of potential sponsors at a future meeting. Businesses donating $50 will have their name listed on signage.

Businesses donating $100 will be listed on signage and shirts.

Next PTO Meeting will be held after school starts in August.
