Student Testing
-
Madison County Charter School System’s comprehensive assessment program is comprised of state, system, and classroom assessments. Results of assessments are utilized to identify students' level of content mastery, to guide teachers with instructional planning, and to support the system in identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to improve instructional effectiveness.
Madison County follows guidelines for test security, test preparation, test administration, and test data as provided by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the Professional Standards Commission (PSC). Madison County provides many measures of test security, which include providing extensive training for school-level testing coordinators, limiting access to test materials, and system-level administrative oversight on test days.

Georgia Milestones Assessment System
The Georgia Milestones Assessment System (Georgia Milestones) is a comprehensive summative assessment program spanning grades 3 through high school.
Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Students in grades 3 through 8 take an end-of-grade assessment in English Language Arts and mathematics while students in grades 5 and 8 are also assessed in science and social studies. High school students take an end-of-course assessment for each of the ten courses designated by the State Board of Education.
Georgia Milestones Study/Resource Guides for Parents
The Study/Resource Guides are intended to serve as a resource for parents and students. They contain practice questions and learning activities for each content area. The standards identified in the Study/Resource Guides address a sampling of the state-mandated content standards.

Practice Website: Experience Online Testing Georgia
This practice site lets students see what testing online is like. The items on the demonstration tests are general and are organized into three grade bands: Grades 3 – 5, Grades 6 – 8, and High School in the content areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The items do not necessarily represent the specific grade-level content that students learn daily in their classrooms. The primary purpose is to let students experience, firsthand, the functionality of the online testing platform. The sample tests are not graded, so have fun!
