The MCHS Counseling Department at Madison County High School is composed of 4 professional school counselors and two clerical staff members. Student office aides also assist the counselors and office staff throughout the school day.
Registrar & FTE Coodinator
Mrs. Felt enrolls new students, processes records requests, and coordinates local scholarships. She also manages student data records, coordinates FTE, and provides support to faculty on infinite campus and grading issues. She works at Central registration two afternoons a week. Ms. Felt also works on the high school master schedule and sets up the master schedule for elementary schools in Madison County
Mrs. Jones assists students with scheduling appointments to meet with their counselors, handles transcript request, provides certification for student insurance forms, and assists students with worker's permitsand certfiicates of enrollment.
Professional School Counselors
Monica Allen, NCC
Class of 2018 Counselor (Current 11th Grade Students)
Ms. Allen provides counseling and related services to students in the Class of 2018. Ms. Allen is in charge of AP Testing and PSAT testing. She also provides translation support to native Spanish speaking students and families. She is the Mentor Program liaison for the high school, is a member of the PBIS team, and is the high school designee for the REACH Scholarship program. She is also in charge of RTI for students in her grade level.
Class of 2020 Counselor (Current 9th Grade Students)
Mr. Daniel is the lead counselor at MCHS. He provides counseling and related services to students in the Class of 2020. He is in charge of interventions for 9th grade students, coordinates the Teachers as Advisors Program (beginning 2016), coordinates the Governor's Honors Program, and handles NCAA.He is also a member of the Building Leadership Team, handles 9th grade RTI, and involved with PBIS.
Angelia Bruce, NCC
Class of 2019 Counselor (Current 10th Grade Students)
Ms. Bruce provides counseling and related services to students in the Class of 2019. She also serves as the GA Virtual School facilitator, coordinates Move On When Ready, and manages the Counseling webpage, newsletters and social media. She leads a a teen parenting group, is the school level Suicide Prevention designee, she handles 10th grade RTI, and coordinates the annual Ga Student Health Survey. She also helps coordinate the school-wide College and Career Fair.
Class of 2017 Counselor (Current 12th Grade Students)
Ms. Owen provides counseling and related services to students in the Class of 2017. She assists with EOC test coordination and conducts mid-month EOC testing. This year she will be in charge of senior counseling responsibilities including the SAT/ACT/AP Banquet, Financial Aid parent nights, Apply to College Events, and College Goal Georgia events. She will be working closely with seniors to ensure they graduate and will be assisting with college applications and scholarhsip information. Ms. Owen also coordinates our summer school program.
