Small Group Counseling
Small group counseling is an effective way of reaching a group of students who share similar concerns. Small groups may be available to students at Madison County High School with expressed needs. Groups generally meet one period each week for a specified period of time (some groups meet monthly--for specific information, consult your counselor). The meeting time is rotated each week so that students do not miss the same class more than once every four weeks. Students are responsible for making up missed class work.
The Counseling Department may offer the following groups based on student needs:
- New Student
- Girls' Self-esteem
- Stress Management
- Dealing with Grief & Loss
- Teen Pregnancy & Parenting
- Changing Families: Dealing with Divorce/Step Family
- Academic Success/Study Skills
- Substance Use/Coping With Someone Else's Use
- Career Choices
If you would like to participate in one of the groups listed above, please see your counselor.
