Welcome to Kindergarten!
As we approach the last weeks of school, be sure to check your child's agenda for important announcements.
Reading daily during the summer can help your child continue to make significant progress in reading skills. "Summer slide" or loss of learning often occurs during the months away from school. You can help your child avoid the "slide" by working with him or her over the summer months. Visit avoidthesummerslide.com for free printable pages and ideas.
Don't forget to make frequent visits to The Madison County Library during the summer. Check their website, www.athenslibrary.org/madison for information about the Summer Reading Program. You'll find lots of fun activities for your child to participate in each week. The friendly staff will also be glad to help you find and choose books that are perfect for your child's reading level.
